Branson – Jim Stafford

Saw Jim Stafford’s Christmas show Sunday night.  Half was his normal show, maybe half Christmas.  I enjoyed it (as usual), but had hoped for more new stuff.

Worked Monday then headed back to Omaha for a few days.  Arrived around 1 am.  Plan to see some friends & family, take care of some business, then head back to Branson Friday morning.

We’re heading back to Omaha Monday night after work.  Looking forward to seeing some friends and all the Christmas decorations (wait – it’s not Christmas anywhere but Branson.

Branson – Cowboy Christmas

Today we saw the Roy Rogers Jr. Christmas Show, which was good.

Tonight we saw Christmas on the Trail at Shepherd of the Hills.  Also a good show.

We drove through the Trail of Lights and went to the top of Inspiration Tower tonight.

A good day.  Now it’s back to work.

Branson – More Christmas

We went to Dino’s Christmas Spectular – it wasn’t.  He played piano, too much non-Christmas.

We also saw the Dutton’s Christmas Show.  It was probably half there regular show and half Christmas – again disappointing.

We heading home for a few days next week.

Branson – Tour Bus Explosion

November starts Christmas in Branson (because Andy Williams says so).  I’ve never seen so many tour buses (and old people).  We’ve already seen 5 Christmas shows.  I’ve been disappointed with the big name shows (Andy Williams Christmas Show and Tony Orlando & the Lennon Sisters).

Hughes Brothers put on a great show!

Branson – It’s Beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Christmas shows have already started.  We went to Dixie Stampede tonight.  What a great show!

Celebrate the season with the Dixie Stampede!

Dixie Stampede – Everyone who experiences Christmas at Dixie falls in love with fun and excitement of the grand performances during our spectacular extravaganza! Nothing compares to the way we bring the holiday season to life. It will truly warm your heart and touch your soul. From the romance of softly falling snow to the breathtaking live nativity scene, the Dixie Stampede is magically transformed into a holiday fantasy with twinkling lights, evergreens, poinsettias, old-fashioned holiday costumes and familiar holiday music.

At the Dixie Stampede, the spirit of the season will appear before your very eyes. Our live nativity scene is both dramatic and spectacular. The true meaning of Christmas comes alive as three kings riding atop camels on their way to Bethlehem. The beauty of angels from above will amaze you. The beauty of the songs will inspire you.

But no show is complete with out fun and games! The holiday festivities get playful as Elves from the North Pole and South Pole will compete in a friendly rivalry while serving up a festive four-course feast! At the Dixie Stampede, cheering for your favorite Elves is all part of the excitement since the audience is always part of the show! Be ready to stomp your feet and get loud! That’s all part of the thrill! From amazing stunt riders and the ring of fire to live horse races, there’s something for everyone at the Dixie Stampede!

And at the Dixie Stampede, you never know what will happen next! Maybe you will be chosen to be a part of the show…it’s always exciting and full of surprises! Plus, no holiday celebration would be complete without good ‘ole St. Nick. Young and old alike await the arrival of Santa atop his authentic sleigh full of goodies.

The entire Dixie Stampede cast of performers, our 32 magnificent horses will take you on a nostalgic holiday trip with all of your favorite Christmas songs.

Starting one hour before the main arena show, enjoy some of the best Christmas music and family entertainment in our Carriage Room. It’s an opening act you won’t want to miss…and it’s all included in the price of your ticket.

Branson – Back to Work

Saw a couple of shows for the second time this weekend (SIX & #1 Hits of the Sixties).  We had an employee dinner last night at Moon River Grill – Andy Williams was having dinner there too.

We leave four weeks from today.

My dad is now in a rehabiliation hospital and is doing well.  Hopefully, he’ll be home in a couple of weeks.

Branson – Saw Roy Clark tonight

We have friends visiting from St. Louis area.  Went to dinner and a show.  Nice evening!

Roy Clark – In the ’70s, Roy Clark symbolized country music in the U.S. and abroad. Between guest-hosting for Johnny Carson on The Tonight Show and performing to packed houses in the Soviet Union on a tour that sold out all 18 concerts, he used his musical talent and his entertaining personality to bring country music into homes across the world. As one of the hosts of TV’s Hee Haw (Buck Owens was the other) for more than 20 years, Clark picked and sang and offered country corn to 30 million people weekly. He is first and foremost an entertainer, drawing crowds at venues as different as Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and the Opry. His middle-of-the-road approach has filled a national void, with Clark offering country that was harder-edged than Kenny Rogers but softer and more accessible than Waylon Jennings. Among his numerous vocal hits are “Yesterday, When I Was Young” and “Thank God and Greyhound.” Instrumentally he has won awards, for both guitar and banjo. Clark has also co-starred on the silver screen with Mel Tillis, in the comedy Uphill All the Way.
