Moosing Around

Moose Sighting

We decided to head northwest – enjoy the folliage and look for moose.

Took a moose tour  and saw three female moose.  The first one was very distant, the second one we got very close to in our canoe, the third was near the highway.

We are very impressed with the fall colors.  I’ve always looked at the fake fall stuff in the craft shops (very bright reds, oranges and yellows) and wondered why they didn’t match real trees.  Now I’ve seen the trees that look like the fake stuff.

We had quite a storm Wednesday night.  Blew our awning loose.  Luckly, we’ve gotten it back in and have only a minor repair to make.  We’ve started practicing putting it in (so we can do it faster next time).

We’ll be heading home in just a couple of weeks.

Campobello Island, New Brunswick’s Bay of Fundy Eh

Went to Campobello Island – visited FDR’s Summer “Cottage”.  Saw several lighthouses.  We also went to the eastern most point of the Lower 48 States.  Great day trip.

Time Flies and So Did We….

Hard to believe we’ll be heading home in about a month, time has really gone fast.

We went in a glider plane.  We went up to a mile, then floated down.  Pilot did some swooping (headed straight down and rotated plane) – quite an experience.

Prince Edward Island

We spent three days on Prince Edward Island (PEI) Canada (eh?).  We were amazed at the beauty – it was so green.  In the northern central island, setting for Anne of Green Gables, the farms roll down to the sea.  Shores are rugged, dirt and beach sand are red.  Beautiful church abound.  It’s impossible to describe it.

We drove from tip to tip.  Interesting, in that it changes so much.

We went to a live music event - Irish songs and step-dancing.  A fun evening.  Eventually found the only micro-brewery on the Island and sampled their products.  All-in-all a great mini-vacation.

Another Day, Another Island

It’s not real busy at the KOA so we have three days off this week.  We head north to Prince Edward Island, Canada (Eh).  It’s unbelievably green with red (iron-colored) beaches.  Went to the house from “Anne of Green Gables, walked the beaches and enjoyed the views.

The toll bridge is $40.00, charged when you leave the island.  Hopefully, we’ll have enough money left to leave.
