Branson – Dalena Ditto

Saw Dalena Ditto this morning – our 99th different show.  It was ok, but not one I would recommend.

From her home state of Iowa, by way of Nashville, Dalena Ditto has performed throughout the world. She has enjoyed sharing the stage with legendary artists including Willie Nelson, Faith Hill, George Jones, Brian White and many others. Her warm, genuine personality and wonderful talent continues to touch the hearts of audiences seeing her now in Branson, Missouri. Dalena’s down-home sense of humor and incredible renditions of Country favorites are beautifully complimented with elegant costumes, enchanting audiences at the spectacular Oak Ridge Boys Theater. Her vocal presentation of classic, current, and original material delights audiences of all ages. Smoothly blending harmonies, Dalena is accompanied by her award-winning six-piece band, The Boys. Enjoy the hilarious comedy, lots of laughing, audience participation and a heart-warming patriotic salute each day to honor our military and you will soon see that….

Branson – Saturday 9/19 – Cirque Montage

Another rainy day in Branson.  Went to the afternoon performance of Cirque Montage.  WOW – really amazing.

Cirque Montage

Montage is a grand show of circus daring and skill – comprised of former artists of Cirque du Soleil. Our world class artists have performed in “Mystere”, “O”, “Saltimbanco”, “KA”, “Alegria” and “Quidam”. Rarely does an opportunity come to see an exciting array of art, music, and skill unite in such a dazzling performance as Cirque Imagination’s “Montage.” Acts include our aerial chiffon performer dangling from high above the stage, incredible contortionists transforming their bodies in ways never thought possible, pole climbers supporting themselves horizontally only by their wrists with nothing but twenty feet of air separating them from the floor. … This is just the beginning of your journey into our world of Cirque entertainment. Audience interaction and the combination of thrill and extraordinary fun make “Montage” perfect for audiences of all ages. Guests will have the opportunity to take photos, meet and get autographs from the star performers!

Branson – Lee Greenwood & the Bellamy Brothers

Went to the Welk Theatre (for the first time) last night to see the Bellamy Brothers followed by Lee Greenwood.  A good concert, but I prefer more variety.

Two successful country music artists meeting on one stage…Lee Greenwood and The Bellamy Brothers perform at the Welk Resort Theatre in September and October 2009.

Lee Greenwood, turning out country hits since 1981, has had 7 #1 hits in his career: Somebody’s Gonna Love You (1983), Going, Going, Gone (1983), Dixie Road (1985), I Don’t Mind The Thorns (If You’re The Rose) (1985), Don’t Underestimate My Love For You (1986), Hearts Aren’t Made To Break (They’re Made To Love) (1986) and Mornin’ Ride (1986). And you can’t talk about Lee Greenwood without mentioning his signature hit God Bless The USA…frequently sung wearing his trademark Stars and Stripes Jacket.

Two brothers, David & Howard, comprise the country pop & rock duo, The Bellamy Brothers. Who doesn’t remember their 1976 #1 hit Let Your Love Flow? Another signature hit from 1979…If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me. More #1 hits from The Bellamy Brothers: Sugar Daddy (1980), Dancin’ Cowboys (1980), Do You Love As Good As You Look (1981), For All The Wrong Reasons (1982), Redneck Girl (1982), When I’m Away From You (1983), I Need More Of You (1985), Too Much Is Not Enough (1986) and Kids Of The Baby Boom (1987). It’s pure country-pop goodness – go see them and you’ll see what we mean. We bet you’ll find yourself singing right along!

    Branson – BIG News

James Vandenberg can now add professional joke writer for major Branson show to his resume .   Stafford chose Jim’s comment card to read at his show last night.  “An observation, people who are employed to make kitchen work surfaces are paid to be  “counter” productive.”  It appears this is not the first of Jim’s jokes Stafford has stolen for his show.

We’ve had a great time with Jim  and Sandy here in Branson.  On Friday, we saw Rankin Brothers and Liverpool Legends.  On Saturday, we saw Roy Rogers Jr.,  the Andy Williams Variety Show and Jim Stafford.  Had lunch at Mel’s Diner – home of singing servers.  Went to Dick’s 5&10.  Took a drive around the area.  A really fun weekend.

Branson KOA – Sunday – New Show In Town

We went to see the Mike Walker show.  He’s been playing for free at the Branson Mall, but recently opened at God and Country theater.  It was OK.  He’s extremely talented but spent too much time goofing around.

The Mike Walker Show - At the age of 5, Mike Walker knew his place in this world. He was born an entertainer. He began his career impersonating Elvis Presley, jumpsuits and all. When he reached the age of 14, he began the search for his own voice. Once he found it, it was not long until he was noticed for his own voice as well as other voices that he had mastered like, Conway Twitty, Marty Robbins, Ray Charles, Willie Nelson, George Jones, Brooks N Dunn, Freddy Fender and many others in the country and rhythm and Blues areas of music. He then began learning other voices in the Rock field such as Bon Jovi, Guns N Roses, Journey and many more. Mike had success with his own voice when he landed a record deal with a major label, DreamWorks Nashville in 2000. He had four songs released to country radio off of his self titled debut release in 2001. “Honey Do” was the first and most successful single off the album reaching 28 in R&R magazine and top 40 in Billboard magazine.
